Nothing New; Nothing Old, same old feelings

So, I've been really busy as of late. Between being sick and school and work and loving my girlfriend, I haven't had much time for poetry. Nonetheless, I have found a way to make a new poem! I hope you like it, it's a little...different then how I normally do things. You'll see. Enjoy!

    Nothing new or old
    Escaping to the past
    Trying to remember
    To never forget
    I need to be there
    I need to with you
    For you are what
    I desire and want
    There is a never-ending
    Need for the fountain of
    You
    A passion bubbling up
    Inside of me
But being sealed at the top
    By the memories I
    Fear that will tear us
    Apart from one another
    Then, the lid comes off
    And our hands come together
    Forever

I wrote this with the love of my life! She wrote the first half, I the second. I italicized the part a I wrote. I hope you enjoy the mix of two poets. :] Remember comments = <3

The Snowy Streets of an Empty Town

It snowed last night! While I personally dislike Winter to Summer, I DO love the snow. See, for some reason, I feel really at peace when it snows. Not afterwards, when the sun is out and it's blinding outside, but when it's first falling and sticking. It's especially beautiful at night. My great-grandmother told me the reason I felt at peace was because I was born into it. I was born in Berlin, Germany in June...and on that night, it snowed! Yeah, freaky as hell, but so are a lot of things about my life. I went to a friends house last night and I was forced to walk home. As I walked home, I came up with this poem in my head and then typed it up his morning. Hope you enjoy!

The snow falls down from the sky
Onto the streets of this empty town.
The white overlay crunches beneath my feet
As I travel towards my destination
All alone, in this empty town.
I shiver as the flurries take turns
Covering my cheeks with frozen love
As I attempt to defend my face from them
Moving forward in this empty town.
    The wind howls at me
Demanding that I falter and bend to its will
I ignore it and turn the corner
Smiling, as I continue through this empty town.
My breath quickens and my heartbeats stops
As I see the one place I've missed
    In this empty town.
The snow falls gently onto my home
As I walk off the streets of this empty town.

I was working a lot on this as I walked home, but I think there's something missing. This is why I wish I had a pen and paper on me at the time . Still, I don't think it came out awful, I just think there could be work done to it. Comments anyone?

    Heart - M.I.A.

Hey everyone! I'm back! It's been one of those kind of weeks. I had about six or seven essays to complete. It was rough. Needless to say, I haven't had much time to really access Xanga. I've left a few comments here and there, but not much else. Thanks to everyone who's been patient, I've finally got a new poem to put here. Hope you all enjoy!

    Where did it go
    When did it leave
    The poster line the streets
And the papers are all headlined
    Heart - M.I.A

    It went away
    And took with it
The hope we had of winning
    This war against ourselves
    Love - the cure

Without it we are all lost
    To the one being who
    Comes to overcome
    Our better selves
    Hate - the enemy

    With our hero gone
    We must band together
For when we unite as one
    The enemies weakness comes
    Love - the cure

    And when all becomes one
He will come out of hiding
Our hero, the user of the cure
He's found inside of all of us
    Heart - No longer M.I.A.

Sorry again for not posting in almost a week! It's been a rough week. As in, falling asleep at/on the keyboard, drinking unhealthy amounts of caffeine, and stressing out all week long. I'm just glad it's Friday! Remember, comments are always loved! Constructive Criticism too!

The Hall That Smelled of Old Cigarettes & Everthing I See Becomes You

Wow, talk about a crazy night! On the ride home, we found traffic EVERYWHERE thanks to something that happened on 95. Yeah, I didn't get home till late. And today, I double checked my syllabuses to see if I had any work due soon. I do. Stupid college. Nonetheless, I decided to give myself a little break and post two of the poems I promised you guys! Sorry for the wait again! Enjoy:

It smells of old cigarettes in here
    They walk on by me
As I try to ignore them
    One in his work clothes
    One in her work clothes
    He wears a tie
    She wears much less
He tries not to look at me
I don't look at his face
I know what's going on here
    She does too
    But she doesn't care
    She's on the job
    She's doing her job
    He's done his
    It's none of my concern
She lights her cigarette and smiles
As the two slink into a private room
In the hall that smells like old cigarettes

Okay, there's one, here's the second one:

A raindrop fell and my heart falls with it
A hundred miles apart and still
My mind goes to thoughts of you
    Your smile
    Your hair
    Your stare
    Everything I see becomes you
    The trees wave at me
The way you waved me good-bye
And the fire inside the house
Warms me like the fire in each of your embraces
    I sigh a heavy sigh
And look longingly out the window
Hoping for more things to come
    And remind me of you

Sorry again for the long wait! Hope you enjoyed them. Remember, comments are always appreciated!

A Lack of Pens and Pencils Killed Me

I feel kinda' bad today, since I don't have a poem to put up today! XD It's not that I don't have one, I swear I do! However, I'm at my grandarents house right now and I don't have any of my poems here...or a pen and a paper, because I'm forgot. I remember my text books to read more stuff about the Lousiana Purchase, but no pencils or pens!  Still, I'm going to try and throw something together right now and when I get home, I'm going to post up a couple of poems for everyone to read! So, enjoy!

    There are no lines left
    There are no pens
    And certaintly no pencils
It seems as if my inspiration has
    Ran out of fuel and
A lack of pens and pencils has killed me
    And my voice
For without a weapon, I am defenseless
And without a microphone, I am dumb
    And the darkness around me
    Will surround and engulf both
    Me and my voice
    Ending the message spread
    Silencing the voice of one
Erasing him from the record of time
    All because he died from
A lack of pens and pencils
    They killed him
    They killed me

Sorry if it sucked everyone.  I'll publish a couple tonight that I've been working on! Comments = Love!

    William The Platypus

Thanksgiving is almost here! I get really excited about Thanksgiving for a whole slew of reasons. One, I love Turkey. It's so good and I rarely get it unless it is, you guessed it, Thanksgiving. Two, it means Christmas is around the corner! Christmas is my most favorite holiday and I'm really looking forward to this year's Holiday Season! Third, I'm actually a fan of Black Friday. I like shopping for all the deals on everything...yeah, a little girly, but hey, you can get new Xbox 360 games for $30 and I can get my loved ones nice gifts! The last reason, and the most important one of all, is that I love sitting down an really EATING dinner with the family. I know it's hard for the whole family to really sit and enjoy a full meal, myself being one of the biggest culprits, but I love the way we all manage to blow everything off for this one meal...myself included. So, I hope everyone has a happy holiday! I came up with this little poem today, it's a much happier and goofier poem, since Thanksgiving isn't a naturally somber holiday or event. Enjoy!

    I woke up this morning
    With hair in my face
    Sleep in my eyes
    And the sun shining down

    With hair in my face
    I walked up the stairs
    And the sun shining down
    Beneath me became green

    I walked up the stairs
    Passed the blue grass that
    Beneath me became green
    Wave to William the Platypus

    Passed the blue grass that
I made a deep hole in
    Wave to William the Platypus
    He's doing his morning exercises

I made a deep hole in
The clouds where people stop and say
    He's doing his morning exercises
    Let him rise up soon

The clouds where people stop and say
    Prophecies that come true immediately
    Let him rise up soon
    I woke up this morning

It's a little weird and seem too structured at times, but I was going for something a little different. If you wonder why it's done the way it's done, click here and learn! As always, comments are loved! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

    The Disapearing Potion

Sorry about the lack of updates! Been a hectic weekend, followed by a hectic Monday! I'm really shocked by how well that plug worked, a whole lot of people ended up commenting and reading my Xanga, so I'm really happy! Today, my friends and I set up a Cafe Press Store. The url is http://www.cafepress.com/artisticprowess , so if you want to see what we've done, take a look. We've decided that if even ONE person buys one of our products, we'll upgrade and really keep up with it. I was really debating which poem to put up today, but I finally settled on this one. Expect to see the other ones posted up quickly this week, since I've got a lot of free time on my hands. I'm thankful for Thanksgiving! Enjoy:

It slid down her throat so easily
    That potion she had
The magic little one that made everything
    Disappear
    The worries, the woes
    The feelings, the foes
    Everything just simply
    Disappears
    Her face turns red
    Her feet lose grip
    All the while her conscience
    Disappears
    I look on in terror
    Hoping that she'll stop
But it's too late, everything has
    Disappeared
    She has no remorse
    No feelings to spare
    They've just up and
    Disappeared
    This Disappearing Potion she has
    There's five more left
Time to wait until they all
    Disappear

Thanks for your time! Comments, anyone?

Learning To Stop My Lies While Lying Next To You

Ah...back on the big computer...I like looking at it's nice big screen when I type . Yeah, I listen to Prince as well as other guys too. I did this one, literally, 5 mins ago after reading a friends blog. I recomended it, so stop by and check out Hated Words blog. Here is a link to the specific post for people curious. Anyways, here's the poem, sorry if it's still dirty from lack of polishing. Enjoy!

    I said I didn't
    I did
But I was scared to tell you
    You knew
    You aways know
    Still, I lied to you
The one I wake up next to
    Every morning
Those emerald green eyes pierced me
Plucked the truth right out of me
    Defeated, Shamed, I drooped
    I broke it
The trust you put in me
And I could no longer face you
    How could I?
You gave that trust to me
You trusted me with that secret
And I repaid you with lies
    On top of lies
    On top of lies

    Then you lifted my head
    Pierced me once more
    And kissed me.
    You forgave me
    The unforgivable act
    And you forgave
    My soul was lifted
By a simple act of kindness
As I lay here next to you
I wonder if I can even begin to earn it back
The trust that I foolishly broke
    You kiss me once more
    Smile
And lay back down, snuggled into me
    An angel gave me hope
    An angel found me
And laid down next to me

Yeah, I think it might need a little tweaking, but I like what I've got so far. Comments anyone?

    Forgotten Faces

Ugh...I'm still sleepy from TUESDAY'S concert...sorry about the lack of updating, I was just to swamped with stuff over the last two days. See, Tuesday night I went to Richmond to go see Sing It Loud, Hit The Lights, Forever The Sickest Kids, and Cobra Starship. AMAZING show, really, FTSK and Cobra were just spectacular live. I've already made plans to see them next time they come around, both of them. Nonetheless, I do have a poem to put up, hope you all enjoy it!

Forgotten Faces stumble in to early mornings
The boldness and the redness in them is gone
Only a foggy memory of what happened last night
Is what remains of the giggling and the rocking
He looks to his left, she looks to her right
Both meeting each other for the first time
The silence is stunning to both of them
Just like the sun outside of the dreary room
The clothes are put on simultaneously
    And the worrisome smiles too
They know what has happened here
Her diamond glistens in the light from the window
His cellphone rings, he clicks it to silence
They know whats wrong with this scene
They shake hands and smile that weary smile once more
    Before bidding the other adieu
And moving on with the rest of their lives
Holding in a deathly lie to themselves
The desires of the flesh is what they took
The desires of the heart is what they left

    Comments anyone?
